Happy Birthday Adam Henrique.

On this day 23 years ago the NHL and women everywhere were blessed with Adam Henrique.
It was destined for him to play from an early age.
The past year since February 6, 2012 has had  super big highs and some bummer lows.
Last May, he scored the clinching goal in game 6 against the New York Rangers in OT to send the Devils to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Unfortunately, they would eventually lose to the L.A. Kings, but we won't go into that now.
From there he was nominated for the Calder Trophy at the NHL Awards.
Even though he lost out to Gabe the Babe, it's still pretty darn cool to be up for the award.
Because of the lockout he went down to the Albany Devils, the AHL affiliate of New Jersey.
While there, he injured his left thumb and had to have surgery.
Because of this, when the lockout was done, he was still out almost 2 additional weeks.
January 31 was his first game of the 2013 season.
My birthday. Even though I spent it down in Disneyland I was lucky enough to catch the last little bit of the game at ESPN Zone.
Shout out to the most attractive waiter in California, Andrew!
With 6 minutes and 10 seconds left in the 3rd period Mr. Henrique tied it up 4-4 against the Islanders.
First game back and he scores! Happy Birthday to me!
The Sharks also won. Super big happy day!
Even with the the goal, the Devils weren't able to hold it and lost 5-4 in OT.
3 games later, on Tuesday night against the Rangers, he scored the first goal of the night.
The devils went on to beat them 3-1.
They started the season the way they ended last.

He's having a good season so far. I really hope it continues this way for him.
And besides all of this he just happens to be a lot closer to me in the age range department than some other players.
Major plus!
So, super big Happy 23rd Birthday, Mr. Clutch!

Here you go everyone!
