It's a well known fact that Buster Posey is my favorite position player.
Out of every other man(excluding pitchers) playing America's past time, he's my guy.
Through thick or thin. Whether he's in a slump or on a streak. It doesn't matter.
We got out first look of Buster Posey in September 2009 with less than a month left in the season.
Not nearly long enough!
But, the legendary 2010 season rolled around and he became our catcher numero uno.
I was like....
Not only did the Giants win the World Series for the first time in 56 years,
but Posey won Rookie Of The Year.
Fast forward 7 months to May 25, 2011. The day that will in infamy.
Miami was in town. It was tied 6-6 in the top of the 12th when Scott Cousins pulled a suicide squeeze and took Posey out at home.
He was out for the season. It was one of the worst hits I'd ever seen.
It still makes my heart break every time I see that video.
We were worried.
Was he gonna be 100% back to normal?
After a hit like that how can you not have that thought in the back of your head, that he won't be the same?
Along with having broken bones, he had to have multiple surgeries and pins put in place to help.
It was not a good time in Giants baseball-land.
But, because he is Posey and he is awesome he came back.
He came back better than ever!
He got to go to the All Star Game setting a National League record for votes.
He won the Hank Aaron Award for the NL.
He was voted NL Comeback Player of the Year by the players.
He got his SECOND World Series victory with the Giants in 3 years.
He won his first Silver Slugger award.
And to finish the year off, he could possibly win NL MVP!
Not too bad if you ask me.
I can't wait to see what greatness awaits us next season.
